Bethesda had a small showing, and most of their stuff has already hit store shelves in some form, but there were some gems in their conference.
They started with 2 VR games.
The first being Doom VFR, which looks like it’s Doom with the teleporting mechanic that has been so prevalent in shooting titles in virtual reality.
The second was Fallout 4 VR. From what I could understand it was the entirety of Fallout 4 but in VR. So that’s exciting, a huge expansive game in virtual reality.
The next block focused on Elder Scrolls games and started with Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind which is the expansion to their MMO and already out. They did announce more locations for it coming soon though.
They then talked about Elder Scrolls Legends which is their online card game. It has already been released and will be coming to Apple and Android next month. They also announced Elder Scrolls Legends Heroes of Skyrim expansion releasing June 29th.
Skyrim for the Switch was officially confirmed, and in the video for it, Bethesda showed there was an interesting feature of putting a Link from Breath of the Wild Amiibo onto the Switch and then playing as him in Skyrim.
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider confirmed a release date of September 15th. We got a CG trailer for it, and it seems you are taking an assassination job on the character who gives you powers in the first game.
Quake Champions which has been in closed BETA seems to be switching to open beta. They announced the World Championships would take place at the next QuakeCon with a $1,000,000 prize pool. Also, B.J. Blazkowicz, of Wolfenstein fame will join the game.
The Evil Within 2 had a fascinating trailer and looked visually unique and scary. Hopefully, the gameplay is better than the first as I found that game to be a chore to play. I will release on October 13th.
The press conference ended with one of the best video game trailers I’ve ever seen (seriously it includes FMV and a guy taking acid and seeing a cartoon lizard in the game) for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. I enjoyed the last two Wolfenstein games, so I’ll be checking this game out on October 27th when it releases.
