Good news Preacher fans! We’ve got the first news on Preacher season two!
The show, run by Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen, and Sam Catlin, will be returning to AMC for 13 episodes. The second season of the show premieres on June 19th at 9 P.M. The series stars Dominic Cooper as Jessie Custer, the title Preacher, Ruth Negga as Tulip, and Joseph Gilgun as the derelict Irish Vampire Cassidy.
We’ve also got some new photos from the show, below.
The expanded second season, consisting of 13 episodes, is a genre-bending thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
There’s also news that Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders), Pip Torrens (The Crown), and Julie Ann Emery (Major Crimes) will be joining the cast as series regulars. On top of that, Malcolm Barrett (War on Everyone), Ronald Guttman (Homeland) and Justin Prentice (13 Reasons Why) will be on the show in recurring roles. Considering how season one ended for most of the show’s characters, it’s not surprising that they might need some new faces. Plus, if the show follows the trajectory of the comic books it’s based on, we expect season two will have a larger scope than season one.
